What Is Abstraction?
Abstraction is sometimes defined as a process that involves generalizing complex real-world phenomena down to their underlying concepts. Any complexities that normally would have been addressed during the process are removed.
Similarly, abstract works seek to envision art that can exist independently from the standard visual references of the world.
